Bored

For those of you who don't remember, I work at Premier Real Estate Group. On Saturdays I am usually the only one here. The realtors come in and out all day and sometimes other people show up but for the most part Saturdays are really slow and I don't do much. I try to find things to do but my role is mainly a receptionist. I do a lot of filing... Anyway, during the middle of the month the only thing that really happens is people are checking out keys to go view properties but at this time of year things are a little on the slow side. No one likes to move in the winter! So I sit here and answer questions to the best of my limited ability and check out keys! My life is so exciting! While I am at work, Chris sits at home and plays games and works on his project and can do what ever he wants! He likes his Saturdays. They are his "alone" time.

Anyway, today it is such a nice day out and I wish I wasn't here. It is warm enough that Chris and I could go the park and play... except that I don't do too well running around anymore. My belly muscles don't like the impact. Oh! And I never said it before but we are going to be having a baby boy in May and his name will be Dallin (TBA) Davenport! And now my other news! I can finally tell that what I feel is him moving! I have been feeling it for a few weeks now but I was never quite sure if it was really him or not so I just waited and now I know it is him moving around inside of my belly! Its exciting! Certain times he seems to be a bit more active or when my bladder is really full and so at that time I tell Chris and Chris says he can feel him moving. I am sure they are really light movements but it is neat that we are to that point. It makes it seem just a little more real.

On to another topic! My hair is getting really long and I hate it. I don't like the long hair on me, I used to but now I am just tired of it! So on Tuesday I am chopping it off! I am going to get the same hair cut I usually get because it looks fine as it grows out and since I don't get my hair cut all that often I think it is a good idea to get a haircut that grows well. I am looking forward to it! My neighbor, Jen, is going with me. It is the hair school down around where she grew up and she can have her mom or mother in law watch the kids while we go get our hair done. It will be lots of fun! I don't leave the house much during the week since our green car is dead so this will be a nice change of scenery.

Well, I am sure everyone is bored with this reading so I will stop but I hope you all are doing well!

Old memories

The other day I was bored and so I went to one of my favorite websites to pass the half an hour before Chris came home. It is Veoh.com and you can find many old tv show favorites on there. I will warn you, it isn't just for kids and there can be lots of risque stuff so just be aware that there are lots of videos that are not... family friendly? Anyway, I was looking up Merrie Melodies! You all remember those wonderful things, right? In case you don't here is what they looked like.

From there I started to look up Bugs Bunny cartoons. I know he was a not nice bunny but I always liked him the best. He was the wittiest, the funniest, the coolest... And he always came out on top. The next morning I woke up and watched cartoons because it is what cool kids do! It was fun to watch those old shows that I haven't seen in years.

That started my trip down memory lane. Every day I sit there and try to think about old t.v. shows that I loved and books I used to read and places I used to go. It is easiest to remember the shows though. My parents have a bunch of shows on tapes that I used to watch all the time and so I have been looking them up, trying to find them so that we could burn them onto DVDs for future posterity! Not to mention there are a bunch of cartoons and t.v. shows out there that I don't think I would want my kids watching because the humor is older than it should be in those shows. Where as look at me! I watched Merry Melodies and Looney Tunes all the time and I turned out just fine! Anyway, my trip down memory lane.

The first show I looked up was Reboot. It was this really dumb (now that I have seen it again) Saturday morning show that I liked. I watch it now and I wonder how I ever even understood what they were saying because they use a lot of techno language instead of normal words we would use. I watched a few of those and it brought back other memories! Like Pepper Ann! That show was towards the end of my Saturday morning cartoon days but I still liked it.

Another t.v. show I looked up was G.I. Joe. I don't remember actually watching any on tv but my parents did have the tapes with a few of them on and so I looked those up and that was fun. That then spurred me to look up a cartoon movie of Voltron that I loved when I was younger. Alas, I cannot actually find the movie, just a bunch of episodes of Voltron. After looking up Voltron I remembered some japanese t.v. shows we had on tapes. Dynaman and Goggle V (I always thought it was more like gunguru but that is how I found it online). Those ones were actually on Veoh and so I am seriously contemplating trying to find the ones we had taped just to continue my walk down memory lane...

I know they are mostly t.v. shows or movies that I remembered but it is easier to find those online. It is way hard to find books online that I used to read. There was this one called Something Different about ducks... thats all I remember and that the kids in the book went to the beach. The first time I ever finished reading it was in Austria at that cabin we rented that had that huge wood stove or whatever that heated the whole house. I was so proud of myself because it was my first big kid book I had finished. Then there was this Bobcat book that I loved but I have no idea what it was. There was also this other one that I can remember the picture on the cover but not what it is about. So, you see? It is much easier to find old shows that you remember. Are there any out there that you all remember?
