Old memories

The other day I was bored and so I went to one of my favorite websites to pass the half an hour before Chris came home. It is Veoh.com and you can find many old tv show favorites on there. I will warn you, it isn't just for kids and there can be lots of risque stuff so just be aware that there are lots of videos that are not... family friendly? Anyway, I was looking up Merrie Melodies! You all remember those wonderful things, right? In case you don't here is what they looked like.

From there I started to look up Bugs Bunny cartoons. I know he was a not nice bunny but I always liked him the best. He was the wittiest, the funniest, the coolest... And he always came out on top. The next morning I woke up and watched cartoons because it is what cool kids do! It was fun to watch those old shows that I haven't seen in years.

That started my trip down memory lane. Every day I sit there and try to think about old t.v. shows that I loved and books I used to read and places I used to go. It is easiest to remember the shows though. My parents have a bunch of shows on tapes that I used to watch all the time and so I have been looking them up, trying to find them so that we could burn them onto DVDs for future posterity! Not to mention there are a bunch of cartoons and t.v. shows out there that I don't think I would want my kids watching because the humor is older than it should be in those shows. Where as look at me! I watched Merry Melodies and Looney Tunes all the time and I turned out just fine! Anyway, my trip down memory lane.

The first show I looked up was Reboot. It was this really dumb (now that I have seen it again) Saturday morning show that I liked. I watch it now and I wonder how I ever even understood what they were saying because they use a lot of techno language instead of normal words we would use. I watched a few of those and it brought back other memories! Like Pepper Ann! That show was towards the end of my Saturday morning cartoon days but I still liked it.

Another t.v. show I looked up was G.I. Joe. I don't remember actually watching any on tv but my parents did have the tapes with a few of them on and so I looked those up and that was fun. That then spurred me to look up a cartoon movie of Voltron that I loved when I was younger. Alas, I cannot actually find the movie, just a bunch of episodes of Voltron. After looking up Voltron I remembered some japanese t.v. shows we had on tapes. Dynaman and Goggle V (I always thought it was more like gunguru but that is how I found it online). Those ones were actually on Veoh and so I am seriously contemplating trying to find the ones we had taped just to continue my walk down memory lane...

I know they are mostly t.v. shows or movies that I remembered but it is easier to find those online. It is way hard to find books online that I used to read. There was this one called Something Different about ducks... thats all I remember and that the kids in the book went to the beach. The first time I ever finished reading it was in Austria at that cabin we rented that had that huge wood stove or whatever that heated the whole house. I was so proud of myself because it was my first big kid book I had finished. Then there was this Bobcat book that I loved but I have no idea what it was. There was also this other one that I can remember the picture on the cover but not what it is about. So, you see? It is much easier to find old shows that you remember. Are there any out there that you all remember?
