A Belated November

I figured that the first thing I should do is write about the month of November. Then, maybe when people email me pictures of our fun Christmas I can post those for the month of December as well but for now, we will just stick with an update in November.

This is just a picture to show how well Chris knows me. We don't buy many fruits because they are expensive and less filling. Though lately we buy oranges and I eat them like crazy! Like 6 a day... Anyway, one day he came home from work and had this beautiful boquet of fruit for me! A happy customer sent it to his work and everyone had nibbled at it but when he brough it home I put some serious effort into eating the delicious fruit. It is hard to see but there were a couple pineapple flowers left and those were my favorite. I even took it to work the next day and finished it off. It was wonderful! He brought it home because he knew how happy it would make me!

This is a picture of Chris and his two brothers while we were having our Thanksgiving a week early at his grandparents house in Virginia. It was really the only picture I had that was useable because I believe everyone would just use Katies camera to take pictures... Not sure. But this was the boys opening their Christmas ornaments from their mom and on them it says Moms Favorite or something like that. I guess that means they are all Peggys favorite son.

This was Chris in the airport. I think it was the Pensylvania airport we stopped at but I can't remember. I just thought it was a cute picture of Chris. It is funny how many pictures I have of him just sitting in the house or somewhere on his laptop... I guess either that means he is busy or he is bored with me. Not sure which...

Since we had Thanksgiving a week early in Maryland we decided that we would also have our own Thanksgiving. Above is the picture of our table with all the food and sparkling cider ready for the eating. Below is our "churkey". I went and looked for a small turkey but could not find one so I just bought a small chicken and called it a churkey. It tasted better anyways...

So that was our November. Chris and I worked and had fun together and then we went to Maryland for Thanksgiving. It was a very rushed trip but it was a lot of fun. I was always so tired though because I wasn't out of that phase yet with my pregnancy. I am doing much better now and have much more energy than I did a month ago! Keep watching my blog for the Month of December update!

Its a baby!!!

I had my first doctors appointment this week! I was very nervous to go to it because Chris couldn't be there with me for most of it. Thankfully he was able to come for the last little bit. I was not actually supposed to meet with my doctor this time because she was already scheduled into the end of November. So I went to my appointment and towards the end the nurse helper lady came in and was like oh! I talked to Dr. Best and she said that if you are willing to wait a while she can see you today and do an ultrasound! I wasn't expecting one because Dr. Best always does them and since I wasn't supposed to meet with Dr. Best.... Anyway, the nurse helper lady called Chris and he came over and we got to do the ultrasound! Chris said that the little booger was moving a lot so whenever they got the picture right, the baby would move and they would have to readjust the camera. I couldn't see because the monitor faced away from me but for about 10 seconds at the end I got to see the baby. I could see its little heart beating and its arms and legs moving! It was really neat. They printed off some pictures for me and Chris scanned them at work so that I could post them so here they are!
The head is on the right side of the picture. This isn't the best one but you can kinda see an arm and leg.

This one, the baby is laying on its back with its head on the right side again. Apparently just before this picture they were trying to get another one and it was a straight on shot and you could see somewhat the facial features. Unfortunately the bugger moved!

I like this one the best because you can see its arm in front of its face and you can see the whole head, which looks like a normal human head shape! This was also the position the baby was in when I got to see its heart beating!

It is pretty neat that we can see the baby before it is born. According to my book the baby is the size of an orange right now. Inside of me! It is pretty exciting for me.

The last few weeks

I haven't posted anything for a while so I thought that today I would do a quick little update on the little things that make life fun.

Chris has been working now and he does customer support for www.infront.com If you go there you can see his caricature and read about how he does at work. I am sure that he downplays his importance to me but the website sounds very positive about him! I have been staying at home all day and doing nothing but tomorrow I have an interview! It is with a realtor place, the same one that we got our apartment from! They are hiring because my neighbor is quitting due to expecting a child in a month and she told me that I should try to get the job so I am! I will be basically a receptionist and I think I can handle that. I can be nice to idiots who call... Anyway, it will be good for me to get this job because I stay at home all day and sometimes I go crazy from being alone all day!

Another thing is that we are Sunbeam teachers! We got the calling and have been teaching for 3 weeks now, but that only means two Sundays because this week is Conference. We have one regular girl Kaylie and then Maddison and Piper have both only come once. We will see how regular they continue to be though. I am sure they come more but I can't tell because we have only taught twice! It isn't bad but it can be difficult because they aren't our kids so we can't discipline them the way we would our kids. We have to watch them and tell them to behave. Actually, we only have to tell Kaylie because the other two are really well behaved. Anyway, I have a funny story about Kaylie. She can sometimes be a handful and so last week she continued on in her usual way. About halfway through sharing time she announces that she is tired! What kind of kid is tired during primary? Anyway, after a while she leans to the side of her chair and lays her head on her arm which is on the back of the chair. She was quiet but would move every so often but she stayed very quiet so Chris thought he had finally gotten through to her to behave herself. She continued to sit like that for the last 20 minutes and I leaned over and asked Chris if she was sleeping, because that made sense to me but he said she wasn't so I believed him. Then it came time for the closing prayer and they chose the kid by pulling their name out of a tin. After about 2 names (which were absent) they called on Kaylie to give the prayer and the leader was like Oh! She isn't here! which I responded to Yes she is, she is right there. So the leader asked Kaylie if she wanted to say the prayer... Kaylie didn't respond. She continued to sit there and not move which proved she was asleep! It was funny and everyone knew she was sleeping. After the prayer the Sunbeams were released first because they were being the most reverent (or quietest). Chris picked her up and started taking her out when she woke up and her dad was waiting there for her. It was all quite humerous and we all laughed lots!

This last week I have been feeling a little more sick than I usually do and I finally threw up! Smells really bother me some times and this last week Chris made tuna noodle casserole stuff. To me the stuff reeks and I can't handle his nasty tuna/pickle breath. It always makes me feel really sick. Anyway, he left the dirty dishes for me to do. So the next day I started to wash them and it just stunk sooo bad and I couldn't handle it but my hands were all wet and so I couldn't reun to the bathroom fast enough to get tehre in time beforehand so that I can smell the stuff I put in there to make me feel better. I tried to get tehre but I just felt so sick and so I threw up! It was gross. I don't like throwing up. Anyway, I don't always feel too bad but I do feel sick frequently.

Well, there isn't much more to say. My mom and Becca are here visiting for a short time on their way up to Alaska. They have stayed to watch conference and my mom also got me a sewing machine. It is really nice to have one because I will be able to find things to do in my spare time. Anyway, I am going to stop since the last session just started.

This will just be a quick little post to tell all those out there who we haven't told yet that I am pregnant. We found out last night and didn't get a chance yet to call Chris' family (since they are two hours ahead of us) but will be doing that today but we called mine (since they are two hours behind us) and told them all last night. We figured I was pregnant because I was missing certain signs of girlishness so we bought a pregnancy test yesterday and found out for sure that I am pregnant!

Chris is really happy about it. He works every day now at his new job that he started on Monday and so it seems like our life is being really blessed right now with a good job and a baby on the way now too! I am still looking for a job but trying to find something easy that will be easy to quit in a few months when I get really big and fat with baby.

Well, I just wanted to let you all know that I am pregnant and really happy about it!

Colorado at Last!

Chris and I have had an eventful time this last week. For starters we packed up our entire apartment, starting the serious packing on Monday and ending with the packing on Wednesday. We didn't want to start packing too early in case we needed something but we didn't want to start too late because we didn't want to be rushed! I think we could have used another day so that we wouldn't have felt so rushed. We had so many things to do! For the most part I did all the packing because, lets face it, Chris isn't the best packer. He gets bored and frustrated pretty fast where as me, I keep going for hours! He had lots of other things to take care of for us though. Such as calling the realtors that we were going to be renting from! It was somewhat frustrating dealing with them because they would say one thing and then later they would say something else, such as, since we don't have an income we would need to pay for 3 months rent up front. We were like okay, we can do that. Then on Tuesday I believe it was Chris was talking to them again and they said at that point that we would have to pay the entire lease (6 months) up front, plus the deposit, plus the rent for the last 3 days of August. It was frustrating because we had enough money for the 3 months, but for 6 months? Needless to say we borrowed from the family bank.

That was Monday through Wednesday. Then on Thursday we got the U-haul! Chris showed up at the place at about 8:30 but they didn't have the car trailer thingy at that point so they said give us a half hour and we will have it here. They had to send someone to Ashton and then bring it back. I guess they just didn't think we would be prompt. Also, I just wanted to add that we had woken up at 3 a.m. so that we could clean the apartment. As soon as we woke up we took apart the bed and took everything out the bedroom and started cleaning. We had to clean the blinds because Rexburg is the dustiest place alive! then we had to wash all the walls but unfortunately as we washed them the paint would come off so we had to be very very careful! Then the bathroom was cleaned at the same time. We were done with all of that by 7:30 so we took a break until Chris got the U-haul which took longer than planned. As soon as we did our very nice friend Leo came over and helped Chris carry everything to the U-haul and pack it. For the most part I was packing the left over stuff that hadn't been in boxes and cleaning. We did that for the next many hours. We thought the managers were coming at 6 but apparently we told them to come on Friday, not Thursday, so we were in a hurry to clean everything for no reason! We had a huge steak dinner that night because we were trying to get rid of all our meats and foods. Then we went to bed! At like 7:45 that night. We even had sleep drugs because we needed to fall asleep and stay asleep! Because...

Friday morning we wanted to get up at 1:30, unfortunately Chris set the alarm but never turned it on so at 2 a.m. he got up and was like oh crap! Its 2! We had been hoping to be gone by two. So we got up and loaded everything. It took us an hour to get everything settled because it took us a while to first hitch the tow trailer onto the truck and then we had to get the green car onto the tow trailer. I think we did remarkably well though and were on the road at 3 a.m. with plenty of Red Bulls and Code Reds! About every 4 hours we would stop and fill up but the red car was usually only between a third and half empty, but I guess U-hauls are different. During this time I was hard pressed to stay awake and stay focused, especially when it was dark. To help me I had to listen to the radio, music would put me asleep so I had to listen to people talking so I listened to NPR for like 12 hours that day... It was amazing to listen to the changes that would come throughout the day. From 3-6 the major thing was Obamas acceptance speech and from 6-10 that was intermingled with thoughts of Romney or some other guy becoming V.P. and there was also this thing about flies and how to better swat them running during the whole time as well. Then at around 10 to the end of our trip there was stuff on Sarah Palin becoming the V.P. When you listen to NPR for that long, everything just sounds the same. So then I switched to a democrat radio station but they swore to much and were too rude to listen to for long so then I found the republican station and listened to that for a long time as well. Anyway, needless to say I learned about politics that day.

As soon as we got to Colorado Springs we drove to the Realtors office. It was about 3:40 by that point, I got the key and directions and we went to the townhouse that we wanted to rent. The place is so much bigger than we are used to but it smells like an animal lived here last time... it stinks... like animal... but since we got here it has actually gotten better. We leave the windows and doors open all day so it really only smells in the mornings. Anyway, after we looked at the place we needed to get the entire amount of money for the lease and unfortunately we found out that Colorado Springs does not have a Bank of America. I don't support that bank. It sucks. Because they don't have one here we didn't have access to most of our money and didn't know what to do! We talked and I stressed for a while with the realtor about options to get the money but nothing would work since we needed a money order or certified funds, not cash or a check. I was freaking out. Finally, we called Bank of America and asked them to extend our limit for the day and we went to an atm and withdrew $1200 dollars because we were allowed to pay part of the lease as long as we pay by this Friday by 5. When we got the money we went back and then Chris sent me to get the money changed to a money order at a 7-11 down the street but they were all out of the paper work for it! So I had to go back, get the car and drive a mile away and get it changed there. Unfortunately I was an idiot you apparently can't pay for the fee of a money order with a credit card so I was in doo-doo because I needed $1.98 to change the $1200 into money orders! Thankfully, the amazingly nice guy behind the counter who was doing this for me said that he would cover it and paid for the $1.98. I was about to break down and cry in front of him because it had been a long day and I hate driving in traffic (Denver area) and I was afraid we wouldn't be able to move in that night! I wish I knew who he was so I could thank him.

Anyway, we pay for it, we come back and we start unloading. It took us about 2 and a half hours to unload the U-haul, do a condition report and set up the bed. Once that happened, we crawled into bed and slept. It was one of the hardest days of my life...

That was our move! On Saturday we unpacked pretty much everything and it feels like a real home now. Our ward on Sunday was amazingly friendly. Apparently they don't get many people moving in so they are always doing fasts for new people to move in so they were happy to see us. It makes me feel like I did something right! Starting tomorrow I will be taking resumes to orthodontic offices nearby and hope I get a job, Chris has an interview tomorrow and hopefully we will both be hired this week! Wish us luck!

Isn't life fun?

An update on us!

Chris and I have been back in Idaho for about 2 weeks now. We haven't had much to do since we have been back. Chris still has not gotten a job yet and has increased his search area so now he is applying to jobs mainly throughout Colorado but also in the U.S. We are really hoping that he gets a job this week. We are looking for an apartment to rent and were looking to the north of Denver but now we are also looking south, in the Colorado Springs area. Chris thinks I would be happier in Colorado Springs because it is greener than north of Denver. Maybe I would be and so that is why he is applying all over now. It is kind of scary because I am used to have a little more stability in my future but we don't have any! I am freaking out! Anyway, we are moving away from Idaho on August 29th and won't be returning. We still don't know where we will be staying but we have to figure that out really soon. Hopefully we figure it out soon so I don't lose my sanity!

So far in Alaska...

Well, here we are in Alaska!  It has been rainy and wonderful since we got here. I don't know what it is about Alaska that makes me able to withstand the cold, but I love it! It might have something to do with the extra clothes I always wear. I even brought my awesome slippers that Chris got me for Christmas so I never get too cold.

I don't have any pictures yet but I will get them off of my moms camera sometime this week and show everyone the cabin! We went out there Thursday -Saturday and worked on cutting down a few trees and also debarking them. I actually sat around more than anythinig and read Twilight for like the fourth time. I do love that book. I don't have the second one but my sister does and so does my sister in law so I should be able to borrow that and maybe on August first go to one of those midnight "parties" that are happening all over the world for the releasing of the book. I really look forward to reading it!

As for what else I am planning on doing while I am here, I don't know. I think tomorrow if Chris is feeling better we will go hiking and I would like to go camping again but we will see. Sometimes it isn't that much fun camping when it is all rainy out, which unfortunately it is raining plenty here! I still really like the rain though! I would also like to go shopping at Value Village and get some new clothes! I love that place...

Anyway, life is good and Chris and I are having fun while up in Alaska. I hope you all are doing well too!

The End.

This is it! I only have 2 days left as a college student! Tomorrow I still have my weight training class and also my water aerobics class. In weight training I will still work out and become buffer but in water aerobics we have to do these stupid nutrition reports. I presented mine on Tuesday so I just have to go because if I skip one more time I fail the class. :) Then I will come home and play with my mom and dad. Play might be the wrong word... I don't really know what to do with them here. I was thinking about taking them to Rigby lake and letting them see the sun since I hear Alaska has been very cold and cloudy this summer. It has been cooler here in Idaho than it was the last yew years but it BUt it might be nice to play in water. I am really going to miss swimming... Today was my last day of my swimming class and we played water polo. I love the game but it is hard to play it with people who don't know how to play or don't want to. I did really well though. I can't actually throw the ball and score but I am really good at getting in the way of people who are trying to score on my team! I like to splash a lot... Anyway, it was great and I am going to miss the instructor, Bert. She has been my teacher the last 2 times I took the class and she makes it a lot of fun where as the teacher before her just made the class hard and miserable.

Anyway, on Friday I graduate! Chris still has a final that day and I just have to turn in my take home final for evolution that I am 2/3 of the way done with but the last 1/3 shouldn't take more than 45 minutes. I was just tired of doing it so I didn't finish it today. I think we are going to have a picnic dinner in the park for our graduation dinner. I don't know what else to do and Rexburg doesn't have any nice restaurants that I would want to go to so I am going to talk to mom and dad and see if when we get to Alaska we can have a nice dinner that makes up for the graduation dinner! Like going to Bennie Hannas or however you spell it. I have never been there but I have heard really good things about it. After our picnic dinner we have commencement where the general relief society president will be speaking. It is kind of sad how the treat the summer kids here at BYUI. Not that I don't want to listen to her, but if it was fall or winter they usually get one of the 12 to come and give the commencment speech. Oh well! And tehn we have convocation where each college walks but in different locations. Chris was going to walk in some other building but he is going to walk with my department of agriculture and life sciences in the Kirkham auditorium. After we walk across the stage I don't know what we will do... I really haven't done much here in Rexburg in the last 2 years and I don't think mom and dad will want to do most of what I do. Like bike riding or slacklining or swimming or going to the gym... Not to mention it will be late at night.

The next morning mom and dad take off at like 5 to fly to Seattle for a family reunion and then on Monday Chris and I will be flying to Alaska for a nice 2 week break! It is going to be great. Then we come back to Idaho for a few weeks and then we move to Colorado. Hopefully we will get all of that planned out relatively soon but if not, pray for us!

My day today

So, I woke up today and started researching for my paper that is due next Wednesday. I learned today that males are just degenerated females due to the degeneration of the Y chromosome which used to be an X chromosome. I am sure that is interesting to all. I did this until I got too sleepy and bored and then I slept and then went to my swimming class.

Today in swimming we had a swim meet. I remember swim meets from the old days in home school swiming. I hated doing them but I always did. I hate swim meets because I hate being seen in my swim suit. I do not have the best body in all the world and so I try to hide it behind clothes but in a swim suit everyone can see everything! For the meet we had to swim at least two different events to get credit for the day. It was crazy... I first did a 25 yd. breast stroke and our team got killed by team 1 (there were only 2 teams because the meet was only for my class) and then I did a 50 yd. free style where I came in 2nd or 3rd, I don't know which but I was happy with myself because there were 6 girls swimming that heat. I was totally up for not swimming anymore because I had my mandatory 2 events and I hate swimming with everyone watching so I was totally all for no more! Unfortunately we didn't have any girls who wanted to do the 50 back stroke and so I offered because I had only done 2 events. So we go and we swim it and as I am finishing I hear everyone yelling at me and so I figured that I was close to first and so I keep swimming hard but oh my gosh it hurt so bad! I was so tired! I finished and I got out of the pool and everyone on my team was all like "good job! You got first!" I was so impressed because I am not much for speed... but I beat the fast girl who was winning every single event! It was pretty good. Then I started to hurt. It was a like a never ending burning painful charlie-horse sensation in my thighs. It hurt so bad! I was done for good then because my legs hurt way to much to do anything else so I just sat there in pain, knowing that I beat the best swimmer in the class. Then I went home and slept for a while because I was tired.

Tonight we went with our friend Gary to the art gallery where Chris finished his FA100. To do this he had to look at the bachelors of fine arts projects. It wasn't all that exciting but then after that we went up to the gardens and they are really pretty this time of year. I also learned that they have the softest grass up there in the gardens, soft being relative for Idaho. Usually the grass here is really spiky and painful. Anyway. we walked around up there with Gary and looked at everything and it was really nice. Then we went to Pizza Hut.

At Pizza Hut we get there and they are understaffed and so everything takes a long time and finally our server comes and gets our order and Gary and I go and get the salad bar. I am excited, see, because I love salad. I pile it on to the little plate I have and try to pile more and more and more on there. When I have no more room for anything I go back and sit down and start eating my salad and mmmm-mmmm is it wonderful! Then, I am about to take a big bite of lettuce and I touch it to the dressing over a cucumber first and as I pull it away there is a big nasty dead cricket on my cucumber! Needless to say, I freaked out. I started to feel really queezy and pushed my plate away. Gary takes it up and tells the lady at the register that he didn't pay to have the bug included and the lady was like oh... sorry... We'll give you a discount. I felt so sick for a while. Then I drew on my napkin the dead bug in my salad and left it for who ever cleaned off the table.... The pizza was good but I don't think I will be eating there any time ever again....

We then went to Brass in Blue, the army air force band that came to BYUI. It was fun and good times. All in all the day was good but the pain from swimming and the bug kind of tainted it but I guess you never get the good without a little bit of bad!

Bored

Well, there is not much going on for us today. Chris and I should both be doing homework but on such a nice day we don't feel like it! You would think that since it is such a nice day outside that we would be out playing in the sunshine but we aren't! Chris fixed our internet this morning so that we don't need a network key but a password instead to connect. Then he reconfigured our Wii so that it gets the internet and he finally did something he has wanted to do for a long time: play people online with MarioKart. He is doing great and has got a pretty high score. I tried playing but we were apparently playing with "really good people" so I kept coming in last and such so I won't play online much in the future. Chris has the metality that if he wants to be better he has to play against better people. I am sure he is correct in this but I hate losing all the time so I don't like to play with his betters because he is my better!

We are hoping that maybe later on today some of our friends will be available to go play tennis with us. I love to play racquet ball with just Chris but in tennis, he is again, my better. So, we invited our friends to play so that way I would have other people to be a bad player with! Unfortunately they are busy making dinner for their cousin who just had a baby. psh! Service... Who does it? Anyone know some good things to do outside with only 2 people? It gets boring to play most games because they quickly become uninteresting.

We have less than a month of school left! On July 18th we will be graduating. My parents are coming down for a day and a half to watch us walk so that should be neat. Only Jennifer and her kids have seen our house. I think Becca did too when she came down for Thanksgiving last year. We like to have visitors though so it should be nice to have my parents here. Then the following Monday we go up to Alaska for 2 weeks! It should be really awesome! I haven't been there in the summer for a long time so I am hoping to do lots of things like go to the cabin, go on an overnight hike with the Townsends, go dipnetting and go camping! All of the fun summer things that you do in Alaska that I don't get to do because I really only come home in the winters!

So anyway, if anyone wants to race Chris on the Wii, tell us how to register you as a friend and prepare to get your booty handed to you!

The Water Park

While Jennifer and kids were down here we had one nice day and that happened to be Saturday! We woke up that day, had a nice birthday breakfast for Chris because the next morning was fast Sunday so we couldn't eat then. After breakfast we played some games with Keith and Rachel while Jennifer napped because Thomas was not feeling well.

While Jennifer was getting ready to take Thomas to the doctors Chris was playing the guitar in our bedroom. Keith and Rachel came in to listen to Chris and started to dance on the bed. It was great. One time I asked Rachel to dance with me and she said no because she already knew how to dance! It was fun to watch them. Chris didn't know many songs that they knew so they just danced around for fun on the bed.

After Jennifer left we took the kids to the park and played with a basketball and football that Keith had gotten the day before. Chris and Keith played lots of racing games and they had fun while Rachel was tired and would sit on my lap and watch them with me. I didn't have my camera out at the time so I didn't get any pictures of them. When we realized that it was warm out and that the water park was indeed open, we went home and got swimsuits on and had lunch and went back to the park!

Rachel was scared of the water and didn't like being alone because Keith would leave her to run around everywhere.

The one coming out of the tube is Keith. He was scared to do it but I think Chris talked him into it. Probably something like "You will regret never having gone down that slide if you don't do it now!"

This was the only time we got Rachel to run around to multiple water spout-thingys. She was very nervous and didn't want to get wet. I understand because the water was really really cold.

This last one is of Rachel in her usual spot. She liked this fountain because it wasn't taller than her and it was close to where Chris and I were standing. She would usually stick her feet in it or her hands and the run around on the dry cement so she could see her footprints. After a while Keith was freezing because he was always running through the water while Rachel was still mostly dry.

I didn't get a picture of it but to walk up to the slides you have to walk under this pipe that shoots water down on you and Rachel was really scared of it so she wouldn't go up to the slides but she wanted to go down them. To get passed this I grabbed her and put her on the red slide as high as I could and let her go down. She seemed to like it but never wanted to do it again. Maybe next time I will say things like Chris to get her to go down it by herself.

The morning after Memorial Day

On Memorial Day Jennifer and Tyson and their kids came up to Rexburg to visit Chris and I. Tyson had to fly out the next morning so he could get back to the slope so Jennifer asked if Chris and I could watch the kids that night so that they didn't have to worry about them. After we went out to dinner we went to the Evans' house and picked up Keith and Rachel and on the way back to Rexburg from their house we got lost! We weren't quite lost because we could see the "mountains" and so we knew we were pointed in the right direction but we had no idea where we were or how far the highway was. Eventually we found it and there was rejoicing all around! The kids were tired and though they weren't complaining I could tell they wanted to go to sleep. Once we got on the highway we told jokes the rest of the way home, focusing mainly on knock-knock jokes. When we got home we put them straight to bed and they were out like a light!

The next morning I went to class and Chris stayed at home and the kids woke up and were playing hide and seek when I came home, Chris fed them while I sat on the couch because I was pooped from my weight training class. After they ate I helped them take showers, which Keith didn't think he needed though he really did. Chris then left and I was still tired so I had them color! Rachel kept asking me and Keith what to draw and she would draw it beautifully as any young child can. Keith drew a rocket ship and the moon and I drew an underwater adventure as you can see on the paper that Rachel and I shared.

So happy! They are really good about taking pictures and say cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese as long as you have the camera to your face.

Keith's drawing.
Mine and Rachel's paper!

At 10:15 I had class again so we asked our friend Gary to come watch the kids for an hour in the morning. He was nice enough to do it even though he was a little later than I expected. The kids seemed to have fun with him. When I came home they were playing Sorry! and Gary, being the nice individual he is let Rachel and Keith win. He even cheated for them, rearranging the draw pile so they got all the cards they needed quickly. He is very good about letting kids win. Something funny that happened later on in the day was that we were playing the Wii. We started with Mario kart which is a little hard for them and then we moved on to bowling. The problem was that I couldn't find the Wii Sports disc! It wasn't in the case and it wasn't on the T.V. stand and I was afraid that they had lost it when the kids were looking at all the games we had earlier that morning. I was starting to worry and as a last ditch resort I looked in the DVD player and behold! there was the Wii Sports disc I was so worried about! I asked Keith how it got there and he said that Gary put it in there when they wanted to play the Wii while I was gone. Gary, for some odd reason thought that the DVD player was the same thing as the Wii, even though they are right next to each other. We all got a good laugh out of that one.

Slacklining

A few weeks ago Chris and I went out with our friends, the Rammels (Tyler and Alex) and went slacklining. This is just like tight rope walking but the rope isn't nearly as taut as one at the circus would be! nor as high. Its a fun thing to do on nice days just to get out and feel like you are being active! I found out about it from my friend Katie up in Alaska a few years ago and then I bought the equipment and brought it down here. Chris got a really big kick out of it so it is something we always like to do it together.

This is Alex walking on the line. She was a little nervous so she never let go of Tyler for more than a second but I remember what it was like on my first day too!

This was my last time on the line and Chris took a picture for me.
Chris and I were sitting on the line and Alex took a picture for us. We don't have enough pictures together because either a) we don't have the camera or b) we are alone so it is too hard to find someone to take the picture for us.

Out of everyone I was the best. Maybe it is because I have god-like balance or maybe I just have been doing it longer so I am better. It is actually really hard when you first start because your leg shakes so much when you try to balance and then for some reason it gets better. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and maybe when I come home in the summer (hopefully) I will bring it and we can have the little kids try to do it!

Sicky!

Today I am miserable. I hate being sick during the summer but I am! I didn't sleep well last night because I was up blowing my nose or trying to pop my ear or thinking how nice it would be to swallow without a sore throat. This started on Sunday and I wondered at first if it had anything to do with the amazing sunburn I got on Saturday but then it wouldn't go away Monday and so I started to take it as allergies due to the spring but medicine didn't help clear my nose away at all and so now I know that I am sick. I don't want to eat because it hurts, I don't want to swallow because it reminds me of my ear and I don't have that much energy which is why I am skipping my gym classes today. i am okay with that though.

On another note I have some great news! We have had my green car and our red car. During February sometime the green car stopped working. We had no idea why it stopped working but it did. The lights would turn on and the car would turn over but it would never catch. We chalked it up to some mysterious reason that Chris and i would never figure out without the help of someone who knew cars. Jennifer and crew are coming next Monday and we are going to let them borrow a car while they are here so that they don't have to worry about renting a car and so we had to get the green car fixed. Now mind you, it has been sitting in the best spot in our parking lot for over 2 months. We have no idea what is wrong with it and we don't want to pay the towing fee to get it to a mechanic but we will have to. I figured that we should at least try jumping the car to see if maybe it would work now so our friend Tyler came over with his cables and jumped it for us. And voila! It worked! It was amazing! We had no idea that the battery was dead the whole time. We figured it was something else since the car would turn on but not start. The best part is that we now have a car for Jennifer and kids to use as well as a spare and we potentially saved hundreds of dollars by not taking it to a shop to get fixed.

And with that happy story I will close. I still don't feel tip top after the 15 minutes it took me to write that so I am going to go lay down so my ear stops telling me that it wants to pop even though it won't. Have a great week!

Another Lazy Day

This is my last semester and I only actually have one class that I had to take. I would have taken it last semester but I think if I had taken it I would have done worse in my other two classes. Not to mention I really really really don't like the teacher who was teaching the class that fit in my schedule. So I put off graduation for another semester, which is okay because now Chris and I will graduate at the same time. The only problem with this arrangement is that I frequently have a lot of spare time on my hands that I don't know what to do with! Chris works and does homework like the good husband/student that he is but I never have homework really and so I sit around a lot! To combat the laziness I am actually enrolled in 3 gym classes as well: swimming, water aerobics and weight training. Those only take up 6 hours a week though and that leaves me with a lot of time on my hands.

Tonight for my entertainment I went to my sisters' blogs and was seeing what wonderful families they have and I decided that I want people to see what a wonderful family I have! Granted, it is a little harder when there are only two of us, but we do things as well! Last week we went to "The Entertainer". He was this amazingly funny guy who sings and acts but the whole time he is impersonating other people! Chris' favorite part was when the guy sang the oldies "Sheri, Sheri baby She-e-e-riiii". Chris was singing the song for the next few days, not as well as the performer, but he was singing it.

We have been waiting for summer to finally come around and we think spring has finally set in so now we wait for the warm days of summer! It continually snows here and the mornings are still really cold so when we go to the car at 7:30 in the mornings there is ice on the windows. Once it warms up we will be able to go play at the park, ride our bikes, go hiking and maybe even go camping. I really want to go camping but Chris doesn't seem all that enthusiastic about it. Maybe someday when we are rich (we plan to be millionaires by 40) we can afford all the nice camping equipment that makes camping easy and then he will look forward to it! Until then, I guess I just have to live with hiking.

We are currently planning on moving at the end of the summer. We both graduate in July, me with my degree in biology and Chris with his degree in computer science. Chris doesn't have a job lined up yet but he is going to start applying soon to companies in Louisville! Colorado though, not Kentucky and apparently when you say Louis it actually sounds like Lewis. When we decided that we didn't want to stay in Rexburg after all we looked up good places to live and Louisville satisfied us both, rather than satisfying one or the other, which is why we aren't moving to Alaska for me or Maryland for him! Someday I might be able to convince him otherwise but I think it will take a few years.

Once I figure out how to do everything on this site I will probably post pictures of us recently and maybe do some of the fun post-things that Jennifer and Bethany do. I hope to hear about all of your lives!
