The month of May

It has been quite some time since I last posted. A lot has happened since then too! I will try to go chronologically so that way I can have it all written down somewhere for future reference.

So, back to May. Sometime in May I FINALLY went to see the doctors! Go me! It wasn't actually a doctor, but a midwife, and I loved her! She was very very very friendly and treated me as though I actually knew what was going on inside of my body and also had a lot of the same views on child birth as I do. Needless to say, we got along very well. I have not been back since then, it has been about a month, but that is because I went up to Alaska and then when I got home Chris's job had switched insurances and so I now have to wait until I have the card in my hand before I make the appt. because the front desk people weren't all that happy that I hadn't brought my real card in last time. But my midwife was very understanding of my situation and knew I wouldn't be coming back until I had my card, even though we really thought I would have had it by now. It is in the mail though, according to some insurance guru Chris talked to today. Anyway, when I had my appointment my midwife had me go do the routine blood work, the glucose test and get an ultra sound! Yay! It was so nice to finally be able to see the baby! And I am too impatient so we found out the gender and we are having another little boy. I will admit I would have loved to have a little girl but there is no reason I won't love having another little boy too. I just don't want to have all boys... I would like a girl... Some time... Anyway, we have decided on the name Tristan Finn Davenport! Isn't that cute? I think it is. So, now we are waiting until my appointment which should hopefully be next week to see if the due date moved at all. I think I will be a bit after August 5th but we shall see! You never know when the Lord is gonna drop a baby on you.

The next big thing was that it was Dallins first birthday! We didn't really do anything on his birthday because we wanted to have a party at our house but we didn't settle in time to have a party so we just decided we would go out to eat that night. So he got a free sundae at Red Robins! He loved it.

Then Dallin and I hopped on a plane and went to Alaska. The flights to and from Alaska were the worst experiences of my life. Being pregnant, not being able to recline, not having enough room on my lap for Dallin to sleep, missing flights and delayed flights... I have decided that I am never traveling on a plane again without Chris. I was so tired and frustrated by the time I got to my destinations that I usually was close to a break down. When we got home and we saw Chris I had one because I was sooo happy to have the worst day of my life over and so he could take care of me.

Anyway, back to Alaska! We went up there for Jonathon's wedding. I didn't have any batteries and my dad only has rechargeable AA batteries so I didn't ever get pictures on my own but I did take some with my parents camera and those are on my dads facebook page! It was a nice, small wedding though and reminded me of my wedding a few years ago. It hasn't been that long and some days it feels that way and other days it feels like it has been forever. Good thing I love Chris oodles so that we can get to the forever part some day! After the wedding I just hung out around my parents house and got to see my family every day. I have really missed them since moving to Maryland, probably because I see Chris's family almost every weekend or day (since we live with Peggy) and it makes me want to see my family. So it was really nice to sit and talk with them. I even got to see Becca, who is quite pregnant these days. Due any day now. It was a wonderful trip, and worth the traveling but as I said, I won't be flying without Chris again.

While I was up in Alaska Chris settled on our house! There had been something wrong with the title work so we didn't get to do it before I left. But when I got home it was wonderful to know I had a house and all of our stuff had been moved out of storage and into the house! We are so excited to finally move in. I will do another post in a couple of days with pictures of our house in it but this post is getting a bit long so I shouldn't over burden you all who decide to read it.

So that was our month of May. Lots of good things happened to us and I look forward to what the rest of June has to offer!
